T's 1987 Buick Lesabre T-type

I purchased my white '87 Lesabre T-type in January of 2000. My current car was a '88 Pontiac Grand Prix with 186,000 miles. I was looking for newer GP when I came across a white T-type with 54,000 miles. It has an almost perfect interior and has been taken care of mechanically. It's major problem is the body. 13 Minnesota winters have taken their toll on its sheet metal. It has developed rust in the usual places, bottom of doors and fenders, and the edge of the trunk lid. When I purchased it I didn't know much about the T-type's, but I had seen one before. I noticed a couple of things that were odd. The front spoiler was destroyed, only the sides remained, and the rear spoiler was completely gone. In fact it never had one. I soon tracked down a new front spoiler, a huge improvement.

Otherwise my T-type is pretty much the usual. It carries power lock, mirrors, windows, and driver's seat. It has the black and grey GN-style seats, and power 6 floor mats.

The '87's didn't have spoilers on the rear decklid (trunk). The '88 and '89 did.
I know what you mean about the Minnesota winters. I live in Wisconsin (also a part of the notorious "rustbelt"). The previous owners of my rosewood (maroon) '88 LeSabre T-Type unfortunately drove it in the winter. The worst parts are where you can't see (back by the firewall, inner wheelwells, passenger side floorboard, back by the trunk, and who knows where else). Outer body itself doesn't really look too bad. All in all it's too far gone to mess with so I just use it as one of my drivers, but it does get put away when it snows so that it doesn't get too much worse than what it already unfortunately is.
I plan on picking another one up in the near future. The next one will be in a lot better shape.
The car has around 266,000 on it now and runs and is tuned perfectly. It is mechanically very sound and gets 32 mpg on the highway cruising at 65 mph. I definitely love it for that and also the fact that it is such a nice ride.
Take care! (BTW- I want a white one next!!)

YES THE CAR LOOKS NICE. i TOO HAVE A PROBLEM LIVING IN mICHIGAN. WE HAD A RED T INTHE 90'S SALT ATE THE BODY UP WITHIN A FEW YEARS. WE BOUGHT A BLACK ONE 4 YEARS AGO DOWN SOUTH, 24000 MILES AND THE BODY IN EXECELLENT SHAPE. THE SUN HAD WARPED THE TRUNK FLIPPER AND THE DASH COVER. REPLACED BOTH OF THEM AND NOW HAVE ABOUT 27000 MILES ON THE CAR. STORED INDOORS AND ONLY GO TO CRUISES OR TO GET ICE CREAM IN THE SUMMER. JOHN
