Re: What have you Done to your Buick TODAY?

Fired 'er up for the first time in a long time. The battery wouldn't crank so I stole one out of a Fiero. My last Pontiac Fiero is getting sold in a few days and I'm clearing out my Fiero stuff. Soon, I'll be down to 2 cars: my DD Honda and the project car '89 BLT. Since I retired the Buick to toy c...

Re: Preview: First Glimpse GNX Style FWD Wheels

This is VERY close to what I have in mind for my '89. Mine will have 35% window tint, deleted hood and quarter emblems, dropped an inch, and the lugs and centercap ring will be polished. The centercaps will probably be Power 6 emblems, but thats still up in the air. I'm looking at a time table of at...

Re: What have you Done to your Buick TODAY?

Issues with the upper intake and lower intake is common. On a 98 Grand Prix I'm working on fixing the lower intake gaskets let go and were leaking coolant. I was lucky in that it hadn't gotten too bad yet. The upper intake had no problems, but it was replaced in 2003/04 based on its date of manufact...

Re: What connections are these

The small connector looks like an extra wire for a horn as some higher-end cars had 4 horns instead of just 2. The 3-wire connector could be left over from an air compressor for cars with Dyna-Ride or whatever the name was for cars with air-shocks. My '89 Park Avenue had its compressor on the passen...

Looks like it will clean up nicely. I assume you'll be getting rid of the red pinstripe decals? I always thought those didn't look right.

Re: Idle issues

41 is a common problem. Either the sensor is bad, the wiring to the sensor is bad, or the cam threw the sensor's magnet. My money is on the magnet. How many miles is on the car? If its over 100k, I'd go ahead and pull the front cover to do the timing chain since it needs it anyway and do the cam mag...

Sounds like you need to concentrate on replacing the crank sensor next.

Re: my 87 is randomly shutting off in traffic

Have you replaced the fuel pressure regulator yet? If not, do that and check your fuel pressure. If you then have good pressure but still stalls, replace the crank sensor.

Welcome to the world of old cars: they break down and it takes money to fix.

Re: Need 89 LeSabre T-Type Parts.

The plastic window clips that hold the glass into the door are missing, which is a common problem and they are cheap from GM (aftermarket clips are junk). Its best to replace those after the window motors are replaced as you need to pull the glass out of the door anyway. Its much easier to replace t...

I think Z-Type was working on some a while back but I'm not sure how that panned out.

Re: Idle issues

Clean your intake, check your vacuum hoses, and run 1/3 of a can of seafoam through the brake booster line. Have you checked for any error codes store on the ECM?

Not embroidered, I think they came stock in the T. Two black sets from my two BLT's and I think my grey set came out of a Bonneville parts car at one point.

Re: New Floor Savers

Very nice. Now what are you going to use to save the floor savers? :P

I've got a set or two of black mats and a set of light gray mats. I like the gray mats on the black carpet better so I run them.

Re: What have you Done to your Buick TODAY?

Just ordered dew-wipe material as defined in this thread: http://lesabret.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5547&p=53833&hilit=window+felts#p53833 Hopefully I can get my dews done so that I can get everything else on the doors done. No point in pulling the glass for the motors and putting the glass back...
